Team Grassroute won the second position among the best idea award winners in the Fisheries Entrepreneurship Technology Event Pitch Fest 1.0
The meeting started at 9.45 in the morning with the Welcome Address by Prof. Dr Radhika Rajasree, Coordinator, KUFOS BIC followed by the Inaugural Address by Prof. Dr K. Riji John, Vice Chancellor, KUFOS. The Chief Guest of the meeting was Shri. R Prasanth, General Manager, I/c, Project Financing, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). Prof Dr B Manoj Kumar, Registrar, Prof. Dr Devika Pillai, Director of Research, Prof. Dr Daisy.C. Kappen, Director of Extension, Prof. Dr Rosalind George, Dean, Faculty of Fisheries Science, Prof. Dr V Ambilikumar, Dean, Faculty of Fisheries Management, Prof. Dr S. Suresh Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Ocean Science & Technology, KUFOS, Mr Muhammed Fasil, Assistant Manager, Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), Mr R. Roshan, Head Business News, Mathrubhumi daily addressed the gathering. Ms Jamshi, Business Incubation Manager, KUFOS BIC proposed the Vote of thanks.

Marine Biotechnology, Fish harvest and post-harvest technology, Aquaculture, Aquatic Health Management, Aquatic Environment Management, Food Processing Technology, Waste Utilization, Fisheries Management, Fisheries Economics, Fisheries Engineering & Technology Fish Nutrition & Feed Technology.
After the inaugural session and the tea break, the idea presentations started. We waited for our turn for a few hours and finally, it reached on 3.15 PM. We have presented our idea of a Mangrove Nursery which will ultimately protect the coastal belt and enrich the seafood industry. Mr K.K. Reghuraj presented the idea, I.B. Manoj and I, supported him. [Have a look at the slides] Immediately after the presentation, we had to leave the hall before the announcement of the Pitch Winners.

But when finally the announcement was declared, we heard the glad news! Our team has bagged the second position among the Best Idea Award winners!! We know that we won the award, thanks to Mr Reghuraj for his excellent presentation of the idea.
Congratulations to the whole team of Grassroute. And we have to present the same idea before another panel on a later day. During this interval, we will get enough time to sharpen the idea and hopefully, we’ll win the pitch eventually.
