Planting Mangrove Saplings

Grassroute joins hands with Sustera Foundation and GenRe to plant Mangrove saplings around the Fruit Forest of Mr I.B. Manoj, the Vanamithra award winner 2021 at  Ayyampilly. Mr Mr Manoj, a famous environmentalist, was in the news for growing a natural forest in the land adjacent to his house.

Sustera Foundation was established in 2017 with a vision premised on the need for addressing the climate urgency in the state of Kerala. The name SUSTERA is derived from the Latin word ‘TERRA’ (earth). The words ‘Susthiram’ in Malayalam and ‘Susthir’ in Hindi/Sanskrit also refer to sustainability. GenRe is Sustera’s ongoing project and Mangrove restoration activity is being taken up under this.
